Abidjan, March 26, 2018. The 3rd edition of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE will be officially launched on April 06, 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda, confirms the General Commission.

The General Commission recalls that the choice of Kigali is explained by the fact that the President of Rwanda, HE. Paul KAGAME, and his counterpart of Senegal, HE. Macky SALL, are the winners of the 2017 edition held in Ahmedabad, in India. The launch of the 2017 edition took place in Dakar, in Senegal.

“In Kigali, we will pay tribute to the two Heads of State, winners of the previous edition. We will also promote the development of roads and transport for all Africa “, says the General Commissioner, Mr. Barthélemy KOUAME.

“The launching ceremony in Kigali will be preceded by the Selection Committee meeting, under the direction of its President, Mr. Adama WADE, Director of the panafrican magazine Financial Afrik. The purpose of this meeting will be to nominate the winner (s) of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2018, “adds Mr Barthélemy KOUAME. Members of several media across Africa will participate in all stages of the launch.

As a reminder, The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2018 is sponsored by the President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA. The General Commission expresses his infinite gratitude to him and to the bank.

The General Commission also thanks the authorities of Rwanda, Senegal and the ivorian authorities for their trust and support. The General Commission thanks in particular Agence de Gestion des Routes de Côte d’Ivoire (AGEROUTE), Rwanda Transport Development Agency (RTDA), the Ministry of Infrastructure of Rwanda, the Ministry of Transport of Côte d’Ivoire, AGEROUTE Senegal, the company QUIPUX Africque, the Family of President Babacar NDIAYE.

The final phase of this 3rd edition, which will include the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy winner (s), will be held on May 23, 2018 in Busan, in South Korea, on the sidelines of the 53rd Annual Meetings of the AfDB.
