Jigawa Pension Scheme Approves ₦1.2 Billion October Payout, Reaches ₦6.2 Billion Total for 2026

The Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme Board has approved the release of over ₦1.2 billion for 484 beneficiaries for the month of October, bringing the board’s total retirement disbursement to ₦6.2 billion between January and October 2026.

​Speaking during the official payment exercise on Sunday at the Pension House in Dutse, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Binyaminu Shittu Aminu, affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of public sector retirees.

​Dr. Shittu explained that the ₦6.2 billion cumulative payment covers terminal retirement benefits, death benefits, and death pension balances for 2,472 civil servants across state service, local government councils, and Local Education Authorities (LEAs).

​A breakdown of the year-to-date disbursements reveals:
​Retirement Benefits: ₦4,943,596,071.55 disbursed to 2,002 retired civil servants.

​Death Benefits: ₦1,123,625,833.01 paid to 370 families of deceased personnel.

​Death Pension Balance: ₦132,946,281.62 paid to 100 bereaved families.

​For the October batch, ₦1,208,958,995.09 is being disbursed to 484 beneficiaries, comprising 182 state service retirees, 105 local government retirees, and 197 beneficiaries from the LEAs.
