Former Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has described the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, as a painful loss not only to his immediate family and the people of Delta State, but to the entire nation.
Dr. Babangida Aliyu conveyed his condolences in a personal statement issued to newsmen in Minna on Wednesday.
Reflecting on the legacy of the late leader, Dr. Aliyu noted that as Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015, Dr. Uduaghan occupied a significant place in the state’s political and administrative history.
He added that Dr. Uduaghan’s tenure represented a vital chapter in the governance of Delta State, and his contributions to public service and national development will forever be remembered.
"Beyond the political offices he held, his passing reminds us of the transient nature of life and the enduring responsibility of leadership to serve humanity with commitment, wisdom, and purpose," Dr. Aliyu stated.
His departure is a moment for deep reflection on the sacrifices and responsibilities that accompany public service.
On behalf of his family and political associates, the former Niger State Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Uduaghan family, the government and people of Delta State, and all Nigerians mourning the loss.
"At this difficult moment, I pray that Almighty God grants his immediate family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May He comfort the people of Delta State and grant the departed former Governor eternal rest.
Though death brings an end to life's earthly journey, the memory of a life dedicated to public service endures," he added.
